Clinical Skills Mentoring is a WSMS Academic Program, targeted at clinical students (also with introductory concepts for pre-clinical students) to improve students’ skills in the clinical setting.
When: Various dates and times as arranged based on mentor availability – please refer to the calendar for the schedule.
Where: Various locations including Building 30 Campbelltown Campus, Macarthur Clinical School, Blacktown Clinical School.
Aims: Clinical skills such as interpretation of ECGs and imaging studies are a key set of topics for students to master as they progress through medical school, with particular importance being placed on the acquisition of these skills on the wards in third year. As teaching of these can sometimes be individually rotation-based and some students may therefore miss out, this program aims to give a senior student’s perspective on these skills, utilising a number of resources to improve their fellow students’ understanding and abilities.
Blacktown Clinical Skills Mentoring Coordinator: Nivetha Nallailingam.
Macarthur Clinical Skills Mentoring Coordinator: Ben Griffiths.
Please contact the relevant coordinator for your clinical school to sign up as a Mentor.
